TROY, Mich., March 8, 2017 – Plex Systems, the leader in cloud ERP for manufacturing, today announced Mike Rowe, host of the hit TV series “Dirty Jobs,” will keynote PowerPlex 2017. Known as the “dirtiest man on TV,” Rowe will share the surprising lessons he learned as an apprentice traversing all 50 states and attempting 300 different jobs.

Plex’s annual user conference brings together the world’s largest gathering of cloud manufacturing professionals to share and learn how cloud ERP and manufacturing automation systems transform their businesses and industries. This year’s conference takes place May 8-11, 2017, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mike Rowe: Honoring America’s Workers

Known for his ability to shine light on the value and experiences of some of America’s hardest workers, Rowe transformed cable television into a landscape of swamps, sewers, and coal mines. He has narrated hundreds of documentaries about space, nature, dinosaurs, hurricanes, and how stuff works. Most recently, Rowe launched The Way I Heard It, a weekly five-minute podcast of bite-sized mysteries for the curious mind with a short attention span.

Rowe also runs the mikeroweWORKS Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity that works hard to debunk myths about the skilled trades and help close the skills gap. As the CEO of the foundation, Rowe speaks regularly about the country’s dysfunctional relationship with work, the widening skills gap, and challenging the persistent belief that a four-year degree is automatically the best path for the most people. The foundation has granted or helped facilitate the granting of more than $4 million in technical and/or vocational education for trade schools across the country.
