You might love the Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform, but do you know the people who make it possible? Talented Plexians have been working hard behind the scenes for decades. They’re what make this company great, but few get the chance to step into the spotlight they deserve – until now. This month, say hello to Senior Delivery Consultant Ana Clérisse.
Tell us about your role at Plex.
I accompany European Customers during their MES project implementations. We build capabilities with Customers so they learn how to configure and manage Plex by themselves, and we guide them while they design their solutions, and maximize the value of their investment.
What do you love most about your job?
I love discovering how Customers manage their operations, learning their processes, and the teamwork with all stakeholders.
Your favorite Plex memory is:
Big week February 2020, it was my first company event. It was fantastic to meet colleagues face to face and to “breathe” our culture and atmosphere.
How will technology make the world smarter in the next 10 years?
Technology will allow real-time data gathering and real-time and reliable data analysis that will support data-driven decision making.
Tell us about a major challenge in today’s manufacturing industry.
Today is not about a major challenge, but about the next challenge. Manufacturing is living in a very interesting moment, forcing companies to reinvent themselves because of the many disruptions of supply chains. To name a few: Covid crisis, chip shortage, exponential increase of transportation costs, political instabilities, scarcity of labor force, and lack of ability to drive the digital transformation of the shop floor. Related to MES, the major challenge is still to reduce the use of Excel sheets as a parallel system.
Where are you located?
Prague, Czech Republic.
When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A Flamenco Dancer!!!
Describe your dream vacation:
The beach (Mediterranean Sea and French Polynesia), spending my days swimming in the sea, tasting the local dishes, especially the fish, and hanging out with family and friends.
If you had to live inside one TV show or movie for the rest of your life, which would you choose?
The rest of my life inside the same show or movie would be too boring. Also, the majority of films are dealing with wars, fights, suffering… so my vote goes to Nature & Travel shows so that I can spend my life travelling the world.
What are your favorite things to do on the weekend?
I love to be with my kids when they play basketball, to walk with my dog in the forest, to listen music, and read. This year I started glassblowing, which I try to practice every second Saturday. But it is really challenging because most of the time we have basketball competitions.
You’re stranded on a desert island and only allowed three books. Which would they be?
A survival guide on how to stay alive, one on survival medicine, and Sophie’s World.
Three musical artists or bands you never get sick of are:
Tell us something most people don’t know about you:
I used to offer plenty of Legos to my kids, only because I love to assemble blocks!!!
