A holistic approach to Lean Manufacturing led to big results for Plex customer, Firstronic.
Firstronic, a premier electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider serving the automotive, aerospace, commercial industries, has been named a Best Plant Award winner by manufacturing publication IndustryWeek. One of only six plants recognized across North America, Firstronic was selected based on its proven manufacturing excellence. For 27 years, the annual best plant awards program has identified its winners based on several key factors, including evaluating if a manufacturer is improving customer satisfaction, growing their competitiveness, and creating stimulating and rewarding work environments.
Firstronic President & CEO John Sammut said the “award specifically recognizes the fact that our holistic approach to Lean manufacturing provides industry-leading metrics in quality, productivity and throughput across every program.”
Firstronic also shared in a recent press release its industry leading metrics including a first pass yield of 99.75 percent, a standard order-to delivery rate of 2 days and an average of days of inventory (raw material, WIP, and finished goods) of 15.6 days.
Plex is proud to be a part of Firstronic’s lean approach, helping prepare the company to scale for growth and deliver quality, innovative products to its customers.
Firstronic will be recognized in IndustryWeek’s March/April print and online issues, as well as at IndustryWeek’s Manufacturing and Technology Conference & Expo in May, which Plex is also attending and sponsoring.
Firstronic has set the bar high for modern manufacturers. Congratulations, Firstronic!
