AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 31, 2012 -- Plex Systems Inc., provider of Plex Online, Cloud ERP for manufacturers, today announced additional functionality to support complex assembly processes at manufacturing facilities. The new options in Plex Online allow manufacturers to improve productivity and increase visibility into the shop floor through the use of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), assembly line support, automated replenishment and providing visual work instructions at each operation. The complex assembly functionality offers manufacturers the ability to generate unique part numbers and Bill of Materials (BOM) for optional configurations -- one client has the potential for 30,000 optional configurations. Most companies are unable to provide unique part numbers and BOMs for optional configurations. Another advantage for the assembly line is the work instruction library, which dynamically builds work instructions with images and a control plan. This allows workers to always find proper instructions, regardless of the task. Work instructions also are dynamically linked to engineering changes, ensuring that the information is always current. "We are excited to offer manufacturers these enhanced complex assembly features," said Plex Systems CEO and President Mark Symonds. "This complete technology solution -- along with integration to PLCs -- enables Plex Online users to work more efficiently and productively than has ever been possible with the previous generation of tools."
